Resources & Facilities

CLASSROOMS AND TEACHING ENVIRONMENT:
  • The College recognises the fact that "smaller the classes better are the chances for the students to understand what is being taught". This guarantees enhanced level of student-teacher interaction and that within the students performing in groups. Deliberate efforts have been made to set up the classes in classrooms of various sizes, just to suit the requirements of the group being taught there. Therefore, different classrooms have been arranged ranging from small to medium sized ones.

  • The College believes in enhancing the subject knowledge of the students through their group work and class interaction. Therefore, the class size needs to be manageable, neither too small nor too crowded. Based on our teaching experience and research, we have limited the average strength of our classes to twenty-five.

  • Though every classroom is modern, well lit and equipped with traditional white board, an Overhead Projector and multimedia projector facility, the faculty suggests small classrooms for case studies and classes for specialized fields. They enjoy this leverage to exercise their choice in selecting this resource as they take pride and responsibility in attending the students on one-to-one basis. This ensures effectiveness in imparting course knowledge to the students with individual attention.

  • All the classrooms have networking points for the teachers so that they can use them to access the information required for the lessons.

LIBRARY AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT:
  • The teaching methods adopted in the College recognise student research as a consolidating factor for a thorough grasp on the subject. Therefore, the College has been equipped with a modern library with adequate number of books related to the courses taught in the College.

  • Since the College pays special emphasis on students' own research into their chosen fields, the students are properly guided to the available research material with all the encouragement from the teachers to make them use the College Library.

  • As is true with the libraries everywhere, our college library is growing fast with the latest reading material being added to it periodically. Since the horizons of learning are infinite, the students are also encouraged to visit the nearby local libraries. To assist them further and to enable them subscribe to any local library in the city for a variety of books they need, they are issued a college letter to show their bona fide studentship of the Britannia College of Excellence.

They include scanner, laser printer, CD writers and photocopying facility. The College anyway, keeps upgrading its system according to the demands of the new era. All these systems are also well equipped with the latest relevant software, which are commonly required by the students.

The whole network is connected through a fast Internet that saves the time of the students to search the desired material.

  • When it comes to the use of Internet, it is our responsibility as educators to see that that the usage is properly directed. Therefore, for the safety and benefits of the students and the College, different firewalls have been placed to protect material from different sites and different online chatting methods.
